About This Site

Since 1937 the American Library Association (ALA) through its Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) division has awarded the Randolph Caldecott medal for the year's "most distinguished American picture book for children."

In celebration of this annual tradition of American literature this year Natomas Charter School students will participate in a mock Caldecott award choosing our very own winner. The ALA and ALSC do not release lists of nominees, however educational bloggers including John Schumacher and Travis Jonker have suggested some of the following titles.
